- Real shop you can visit
- Licensed and insured with TRUE workers’ comp that covers employees
- Employees, not just subs
- Written contract and estimate
- Fair payment terms (50% down only on replacements, balance after work)
- Service department for warranty & repairs
- Project manager who communicates
- Inspector who checks every job
Pro Tip: Call the contractor’s insurance company directly and ask: “Do they have employees covered
under this policy, and how many?” If the answer is zero, that’s a red flag.
