Today, FixRoof stands for more than just repairing shingles or stopping leaks – it stands for the family values and courage that shaped its founder. Every time our team drives out to a customer’s home, I see a bit of that eight-year-old me, anxious about the task ahead but ready to do it because someone believes in them. We make it a point to treat our customers like family, with honesty and patience, the way my dad taught me on that barn roof. And when we say, “we’ll fix your roof,” there’s a deeper promise in those words – a promise that we’ll be there to help, no matter how daunting the climb or tough the job, just as my father was there for me.
I often find myself gazing up at a roof we’ve just finished repairing, remembering a smaller barn and a younger me. I feel the same mix of relief and accomplishment I did back then, and I imagine Dad standing beside me, nodding in approval. Pride swells in my chest knowing that I’ve carried his lesson forward. Our logo, our name, every nail we drive – it all carries the imprint of that day and that simple, powerful lesson about overcoming fear.
Many people have childhood memories of holding a flashlight for their mom or passing tools to their dad. My memory just happened to take place on a rooftop, with my dad handing down not only tools and tasks, but wisdom. FixRoof’s story is really my dad’s story, and mine – a father and son on an old barn, turning a moment of fear into a lifetime of purpose. It’s a story told without a single word wasted, a story that lives in the heart of our company.
And so, every time someone sees the name FixRoof, I hope they feel a little of what I feel: the warmth of a nostalgic childhood memory and the inspiring spark of a lesson learned. It’s a reminder that behind every roof we fix, there’s a foundation of love, courage, and the pride of overcoming what scares us.
